Universitas Sumatera Utara

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is one of the prestigious public universities which located in Medan, Sumatera Utara. The biggest and the oldest public university outside Java, founded in 1952. USU is appointed as the Legal Entity State University in 2014. As consequences, USU has more autonomy in organizing its academic and financial affairs. This provision gives flexibility for USU to encounter the challenges, competition which needs to be addressed in the vision and supported by the ability to formulate strategic steps. USU consists of 17 schools includes Medicine, Law, Agriculture, Engineering, Economics, Cultural Science, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, Pharmacy, Psychology, Nursing, IT, and Forestry. The strength research areas include tropical medicines, renewable energy, and local wisdoms.
