About the University

"Damietta University began as a branch of Mansoura University in 1976 and became independent in 2012. Since then, it has grown to include 14 faculties, continuously expanding its infrastructure to support modern education methods. The university adopts diverse teaching approaches to cater to different learning styles, ensuring high educational quality and equipping students with specialized skills aligned with labor market demands.
Located in New Damietta City’s 4th District, the campus spans nearly 200 acres and serves approximately 44,000 students and 1,700 staff members. Damietta University embraces a strategic vision and a community valuing hard work, set in a peaceful environment characterized by the welcoming nature of local residents and the region’s reputation for unique goods and products.
The university is also launching Damietta National University (2025-2026) and Damietta Technological University (next academic year), emphasizing its growth and diversification. The location benefits from natural, industrial, and tourism resources, with rich historical and archaeological significance.
Damietta University’s research focuses primarily on solar cells, chemistry, physics, climate change, and computer science, while priority academic areas include English/world literature, humanities, and social sciences."
