National Research Mordovia State University, located in Saransk, Republic of Mordovia, was founded in 1931. In 2010, it was awarded the status of a national research University. The University has over 19,000 students, including about 4,000 international students from 57 countries. It incorporates 13 institutes and 4 faculties, offering 352 educational programs.
The University's current infrastructure includes 33 academic buildings, a swimming pool, a culture center, a botanical garden, and the multifunctional Ogarev Arena, which transforms into an ice rink, sports and concert venue.
