About the University

Tomsk Polytechnic University is the oldest technical university in Asian Russia founded in 1896.
Over 200 thousand engineers have graduated from the university for more than 100-year history. There are academicians, a Nobel laureate, world-class scientists among TPU graduates and staff that include the names of Nikolay Kamov, a Soviet aerospace engineer, Nikolay Nikitin, a designer and constructor of Ostankino tower and many others.
TPU has more than 11.5 thousand students, including three thousand international students from 23 countries. We educate engineers for space and missile industry, chemical industry, nuclear industry, geology, also engineering entrepreneurs and many other experts.
There are nuclear medicine technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of cancers, 3D printed biomedical materials and products, modification methods with plasma and radiation techniques, manufacturing of ceramic nanoparticles for high-tech industries among engineering projects of TPU.
The atmosphere of true moral and cultural values at TPU is supported by multiple creative, sports and volunteering communities. The TPU campus was recognized the best in Russia due to the results of the competition held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
