About the University

Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) was established in 1954 as a teacher education institute and has since evolved into a comprehensive university of education, known as a leading center for educational innovation in Indonesia. The main campus is located in Bandung, West Java, with five regional campuses in Cibiru, Sumedang, Tasikmalaya, Purwakarta, Serang. Currently, UPI has approximately 73,000 students and 2,813 lecturers and staff members. The university comprises 8 faculties and 1 graduate school, offering more than 175 study programs across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. Research and academic excellence at UPI focus on key areas such as education and pedagogy, educational technology and innovation, cultural and character-based education, STEM and vocational education, and sustainable community development. With a strong commitment to advancing education and nurturing professional educators, UPI continues to contribute to national development and global knowledge exchange through research, collaboration, and community engagement.
