About the University
The University of South Africa (Unisa) is located primarily in Pretoria with a multicampus structure which includes Muckleneuk (main campus), Sunnyside, Florida Science campuses, and regional offices across all the nine Provinces and in Ethiopia. Unisa is one of Africa's largest open distance e-learning (ODeL) institutions. The university enrolls approximately 370,000–400,000 students and serves a third of South Africa's higher education population across diverse programs offered through the eight colleges and 2 Schools (Accounting Sciences, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Education, Economic and Management Sciences, Graduate Studies, Human Sciences, Law, Science, Engineering and Technology and two schools – Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) and Thabo Mbeki School of Public and International Affairs). Unisa's main research strengths lie in the 10 catalytic niche areas, these include Marine Studies; Aviation and Aeronautical Studies; Automotive Studies; Energy Studies; Space Studies and the Square Kilometre Array; Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digitalisation; Natural Sciences (Biotechnological Studies); Health/Pharmaceutical Studies; Feminist/Womanist/Bosadi Theorisations; and Student Support and Co-Curricular Activities.
